Experts in all your roofing needs
On the matter of your roof, prevention is better than cure. Its proper maintenance is just as important as the upkeep of your home. From washing your roof to painting and treating tiles, we can increase your roof’s lifespan and avoid the need for costly repairs.
Regular maintenance will protect your roof from damage, and a well-maintained roof will protect you and your home from leakages and mould. A roof that is looked after by professionals will also last longer. Regular inspections, debris removal, and cleaning are all requisites for a strong and sturdy roof.
As a rule of thumb, it’s advisable to impregnate your roof tiles every 5 to 10 years. We recommend a paint job every 20 years or so for a metal roof, and moss removal treatment every 2-3 years for a tiled roof. We estimate a tiled roof’s lifespan at about 15 years.
All those numbers are approximate. More exact figures will depend on a roof’s current condition, its angle of slope, surroundings, and the direction in which it faces.
Work with us, and you can rest assured that we’ll find a solution that suits your roofing needs to a tee.
Your roof is in good hands with us
Our Nordic climate, with its four seasons, takes its toll on roofs. Temperature changes, pollution, UV radiation, and the sun’s damaging rays all fade the colour of metal roofs. Then there’s moss growth which – if left unchecked – can lead to several long-term problems for a tiled roof. In a nutshell, it’s important to keep tiled roofs free of dirt, debris, and moss growth. This will prevent structural damage and the blockage of your home’s drainage system.
Take timely action. That way, we can assess the situation before it worsens, saving you from having to pay for costly repairs. Our AMP team consists of 7–10 experienced roof service specialists. As veritable jacks-of-all-trades, we know a thing or two about plumbing, construction, sheet metal, mechanics, and woodwork. Our roof service skills are, of course, second to none.
A roof maintenance project for a large house takes approximately three days: one day for tile washing, one to apply protective material and apply paint by hand, and one for spray painting. Two days is usually sufficient for a smaller house: one for tile washing and one for painting. However, the time required can vary, as progress depends partly on the weather.
You don’t have to be at home during our assessment, or make any particular preparations for our visit.
Apart from treating your roof, we are committed to leaving your property in the same condition in which we found it. This means we will protect your windows and garden from our equipment and paint splatter. It also means that we’ll rinse the house façade if the aerial work platform we use for our roof maintenance leaves any marks. We’ll get the job done quickly, efficiently, and with the utmost care for your home.
FAQs
– We clean your roof at a water pressure of 200–250 bar to prepare it for painting or impregnating. This will not damage your tiles.
– We use both two-component and water-based paints, according to what we think is best on a case-by-case basis and, of course, in consultation with you.
– We can clean felt roofs if they are in good condition. We adjust the pressure so it cleans the roof but doesn’t remove the grit that protects it.
– Unfortunately, minerite sheets often contain asbestos. Working with asbestos leads to increased costs because the washing water should be cleaned. We recommend you change the roofing material instead of painting it.
– No, we will check to see whether we’ll have access to electricity and water during the roof inspection. And if not, we will bring our own water and electricity supplies.
– The roof inspection is free of charge and, no, you don’t need to stay at home for it. After our inspection, we’ll let you know if there are any problems that call for swift action. We’ll also give you our recommendations and a quote.
– We prefer to see your house and roof before we assess your roof’s maintenance needs and the costs. We work at a fixed price. This means you can use our quote to calculate your income tax deductions for the work before you schedule an appointment with us.
– We strive to deliver the best possible results and only use top-quality products.
Our roof maintenance equipment
Safety is important to us
Working on roofs is always a safety risk and we use modern skylifts and appropriate fall protection equipment to work as safely as possible. In most cases, there is only one person per roofing project, but during the summer we often have summer workers on the projects to help cover windows and paint by hand. At AMP Services, we care about occupational safety and follow all regulations. All our employees are insured and strive to work as safely and securely as possible on your sites.
We carry out inspections, wash and repair roofs
We can wash your tiled roof with a pressure washer, replace broken tiles, and paint or impregnate your roof. Before we paint or impregnate your roof, the roof is treated with a coating to eliminate spores that damage your tiles. We apply Nowo Clean and Nowo Dry or Nowo Coat, top-quality products from our loyal Danish supplier, before we give your roof two coats of paint. We apply a thin coat and a, second, thicker coat for a long-lasting and immaculate result.
A tiled roof that is looked after will last longer, as an unpainted roof is prone to corrosion. And the longer your roof is exposed to moisture, the faster corrosion will spread, damaging your roof. We use Eskaro’s and NowoPaint metal paint and, if necessary, Nowo Metal, a highly-effective cleaning agent.
As soon as you notice the paint is starting to flake off your roof tiles, it’s time to contact us.
Impregnate your roof for invisible protection
If you prefer not to paint your roof, it’s important to impregnate the washed tiles, to improve protection. If the roof is fairly new and the surface and colour are in good condition, we can treat it with Nowo Dry, a colourless solvent-based coating. The impregnation penetrates the tiles’ pores and small cracks before hardening and forming a smooth barrier against moss growth and mould spores.
Paint your roof and increase its lifespan
There’s a lot more to painting a roof than people imagine. Optimal results depend on various factors: whether you opt for abrasive blast cleaning or pressure washing, the paint you use, and the method of application.
But there’s no need to worry. We have many years of experience as roof painters and use only top-quality Nowo Coat products. This ensures great-looking results that last for years. If you wish, you can also plan the ceiling paint well in advance with Nowocoat’s tools.
